What is the Solar for Schools Programme?

The Solar for Schools Programme provides funding for schools to install up to 6kWp of roof-mounted solar panels and inverters. Along with the solar panels, the programme covers all necessary installation work, including connection to the grid and monitoring software, allowing schools to track their energy usage and savings.

The grid connection also enables schools to sell surplus energy back to the grid, generating income when the school is closed, such as during weekends and holidays. This excess energy helps power homes in the community with renewable electricity.
